The market in Australia is volatile at the moment… for any photographer with any business sense will know what im talking about…
The Australian government propped up the economy when the rest of the world went into GFC! well what a mistake that was Australia… we should have road it out with the rest of the world instead of say we are fine and a strong nation… let us throw money at the building industry and prop up the economy.. yay!!!! not yay… band aid treatment at its finest !!!
my point is… all industries are feeling it now… and with whats happened in Australia with natural disasters has made it all the more difficult!!
If i get one more client contact me for a quote and saying how much they love my work… but!!! and her it comes, you need to adjust your price… and dramatically! Im all for adjusting… I know you are all hurting and retail sales are down… but negotiation is what and how it works…
Dont ask me to shoot for $1000.00 let me show you why…

Preproduction 1-2 days
Post production/Image retouching 3-4 days…
ok.. by my way of thinking, and im no accountant… seems like I’ll be working to $100.00 per day… Hmmmmm.. I would rather work in a carnival…. no offence carni workers ;)
earning potential from great images….. 100’s of thousand’s…
Photographers… think about this… we are here to create and to make money…
Clients… please talk to your photographer, discuss and ask for solutions… there are always ways to make a shoot more budget affective… instead of making a shoot cheaper!

Model Agency spotlight
Anyone traveling to California has to check out No Ties Management, They are in San Diego California and they rock! My dealings first started a year ago when I spoke one of there bookers via email… Jules Newmark, this girl is onto it… sending constant updates on the girls.. you cant help but to notice No Ties. Finally got to work with one of there girls Kaet, and a pleasure it was. We shot a campaign and stunning beauty editorial, soon to be released. I find that No Ties is not your typical Cali agency… they think outside of Cali look and there girls are definitely international. so, No Ties Management and Jules has 2 thumbs up from me!! Look forward to working with them again very soon… G:)
Which agencies would hear my call in the beginning?
One the most respected agencies in Brisbane Australia.. was i ready to ask for girls from them.. i thought so.. many would have said i was mad at the time.. so I sent an email along with a very short list of shots, that at the time i thought where great! ( no one will ever see them again)! ;)
they responded.. “thank you George, nice work… lets meet” i recon it was to see who and what i was about, before they let me anywhere near there girls!
First meeting went amazing and i really have to thank Dally’s for helping me make a start in this industry!!! Thomas, one of the head bookers is fabulous! His response with packages when needed is on the mark! professionalism is unrivalled…
Dally’s Models is the agency that has found models like… Catherine McNeil super model! So yes they know models!
When casting and in Brisbane… Dally’s is a must see!
